A message from Space Job Center
According to the Satellite Industry Association, the commercial satellite industry has grown, between 2004 and 2009, an average 11.7%, and now accounts for almost USD 161 billion in annual revenue. Plus, The Space Report 2010 shows that global space activities in 2009 surpassed the USD 260 billion mark.
Additionally, this year has brought good news such as:
- About 5% increase in NASA's budget.
- European Commission initiative to use regional funds to develop broadband in rural areas.
- Continuous presidential support for the Russian Federal Space Plan.
- China and India growing effort in space.
- Successful private ventures such as Bigelow and Space X.
Considering all these factors, global space activities will continue growing in the upcoming years. Unfortunately an aging space workforce and competition from other high technology industries makes it difficult to find professionals interested in the space sector.
Space Job Center wants a healthy, growing space sector. And as any other human activity, it depends on the right people to do it. For that motive we strive to facilitate the flow of information between companies and candidates.
Therefore our value proposition for you, the employer, is an innovative credit system, an easy to use interface, and a database of professionals from all over the world. We believe that this combination will help streamline your search process and dynamize the space industry.
However, we believe in balance. That is why our first commitment to all space organizations is to provide our services, for free, until the end of 2010. That is the first, of many other activities, that we plan to implement in the coming years, contributing to the health of this inspiring quest of integrating space to our lives.
